Every birthing person DESERVES a doula!
An ever-growing number of pregnant people are looking to reduce medical interventions during their labor and births and guarding against unnecessary cesarean sections (c/sections). Numerous studies show having a doula present at your birth is extra insurance to greatly increase the chances of having the birth experience you desire.
As a birth support doula, Kathy will provide a continuous source of comfort, encouragement, support (emotional/physical), and evidence-based information needed to have a safe and memorable birth. Kathy will be a soothing voice of experience, help with relaxation and pain mitigating techniques, and stress-reducing, pain-relieving breathing.
One thing Kathy won’t do is relegate your partner to “third-wheel status”. A good doula will never push a co-parent aside but helps the partner to integrate into the labor support process.
Once your sweet babe is in your arms, Kathy will assist with the all-important Golden Hour; the precious first-hour your baby spends in your arms having just emerged from your body. If you chose to breastfeed, baby’s first hour in your arms is the perfect time for their first sips of your miraculous
colostrum your breasts made especially for your little miracle.
Kathy will be at your side to help with the first latch or if you’re not breastfeeding, tuck the two of you in and help celebrate your little miracle as you admire your baby’s little fingers and wonder whose nose baby has.
When you’re nestled back in your home, Kathy will be happy to stop by for a visit to answer any questions you might have or give a quick lesson in the best way to diaper baby.

BIRTH and LABOR DOULA FACTS & QUESTIONS
WHAT IS A DOULA?
A doula is a trained companion who desires to support a person through a health-related event.
My passion as a Birth support doula is to support mothers and partners through their prenatal, labor, and delivery. It is never my intention to replace the partner’s role but to amplify it, assisting them in how to best to be the support and energy for mom. It is a mother’s right to go through labor and delivery as close to her plan as possible, and it is my pleasure to advocate for you while in the moment. Every mother should be able to experience a positive birth, and I can help provide you with the resources, knowledge, and support to obtain that.
